The most common reason for organizations to undergo organizational change is due to a need for new challenges or opportunities. Another reason may be due to changing market conditions, which requires changes in business model. A third reason might be due to internal reorganization, which involves replacing senior management with younger employees. There are many other reasons that could lead an organization into an organizational change process.
Organizational Change Process – Types of Change
There are different kinds of organizational change processes. They include:
1) Internal Organizational Change Process – This type of change process is usually initiated by a company’s leadership.
It involves the replacement of existing senior management with younger employees.
2) External Organizational Change Process – This type of change process is typically initiated by external parties such as shareholders, investors, or government officials.
These changes involve the replacement of senior management with younger employees.
3) Hybrid Organization Change Process – This kind of change process includes both internal and external organizational change processes.
It involves the replacement of senior management with younger employees while maintaining some aspects of the old structure.
Implementation of changes are not always easy. It takes time before the newly installed managers can successfully take on their roles and responsibilities. During these periods of transition, productivity may drop and the success of the new system is not certain. This period of uncertainty may last from a few months to a few years, depending on various factors such as market conditions and other external pressures.
Once the managers settle in, however, it takes about five to ten years for them to reach maximum productivity. This is because it takes time for these new managers to become familiar and efficient in their roles. Good and experienced managers are promoted from within, and this process may take around five to ten years before they can really take full advantage of their new roles.
How quickly an organization can undergo change really depends on a multitude of factors such as market conditions, management vision, and the willingness to release current resources. These factors also help determine how the process goes. If market conditions aren’t suitable, then there may not be much point in undergoing an organizational change process. It is also important that the organization undergoes a change to a system that is better than their old system.
For this reason, it is sometimes best to undergo short periods of transition under the old system before switching over to the new one.
Another important thing to consider before undergoing a change is whether or not the organization has the human resources to sustain such a system. If the organization doesn’t have enough experienced managers, then it might be best to wait until they do. This allows the organization to build up a strong support base for the new system before releasing the old one. After all, it would be pointless to release a new system that would collapse as soon as its architects leave.
