The Hour Fitness Gym in New York City opened its doors at 9:00 AM. There were only two people inside the gym when I arrived around 10:30 AM. One was a middle-aged man with short hair wearing a hoodie and sweatpants, while the other person was a woman dressed in black pants and a white tank top, who looked like she worked there. They both had their heads down looking at their phones.
I walked up to the front desk and asked if they have any classes going on right now. A young lady behind the counter told me that it’s just cardio, but I wanted to see what kind of class it was since I heard about the hour workout being offered today. She said she’d check and then gave me a number to call back later when classes start so I don’t miss out on anything.
I called back and spoke to a guy named Dan who answered the phone. He seemed very friendly and chatty, which is unusual for him since he usually sounds bored or annoyed. I asked how many people were currently working here, and he said that there were three guys and one girl.
When I asked if they could do the hour workout, he laughed saying “What?
That’s not possible.” Then he hung up on me.
I’m not sure what to make of this, but I thought it was so out of character for him that it seemed even stranger. He actually sounded worried when I told him I was thinking about the hour workout.
Whatever the case, I hope this place can get better. The city needs another 24-hour gym, plus with better equipment and classes. There’s always a lot of people at the central location, so I hope this place is a success.
I’ll be back later for that class they have. Maybe they can convince me not to try it, whatever it is.

What is the Hour Workout?
The Hour Workout is a secret fitness ritual that has to be done at least once in your life, even if it kills you. The catch is you don’t know what the hell is going on while you’re doing it. It is only later that you find out what actually happened.
Most people don’t survive the Hour Workout. There is absolutely no way of knowing how your body and mind will react to this, even if you’re in perfect health.
What happens during the workout varies from person to person. This is why you can never know exactly what happened during it. However, what IS certain is that you will lose all your hair afterwards.
Your body and mind goes through a lot during this hour, and some people have compared it to drug use. The surprising thing about the Hour Workout is it’s not illegal at all, but then again the company has enough lawyers to make sure of that. Even Wikipedia has no information on what happens during it!
The catch with this is that it’s not the workout itself that causes this effect, but rather something else that happens to you during that hour. Since everyone has a different experience, we will probably never know what causes it. The company makes sure to keep everything as secret as possible.
Can I try the Hour Workout?

I tried it myself once and I lost all my hair. I have to admit I was scared for quite a while after that happened. I finally went to the doctor who referred me to a psychiatrist, but even he had no idea what could have caused it! All he could tell me was that my brain must have experienced something so traumatic that it resulted in the loss of my hair.
They say the mind can do a lot of things that the body can’t, but this is just insane. I would never try it again, even if I had to live the rest of my life as a baldy!
Does the Hour Workout have any benefits?
Lots! It has been proven to increase your muscle mass and endurance. The effect doesn’t stop at physical prowess though. People have shown increased intelligence after they completed it for the first time. This means you can become smarter and stronger with just one workout!

The lights went off right after I heard those words. I was already quite familiar with the room so I quickly got out of there and turned off the lights.
They say curiosity killed the cat. In my case it was dumbness that almost got me killed.
What was I thinking trying something that could have killed me?
Well, I wasn’t. But I certainly learned a lesson today: No good ever comes from doing something you’re not supposed to do.
I might have lost my hair, but at least I got a funny story to tell.
Maybe this will be a cautionary tale for others who are thinking about trying out the Hour Workout.
