Chris Spealler: CrossFit Legend
Chris Spealler was born in 1975 in San Diego, California. His father was a professional bodybuilder. Chris grew up playing sports such as football, basketball and baseball. He started training at age 14 under the guidance of his older brother Matt. At 18 years old he became one of the first athletes to compete in the Iron Man Triathlon (Ironman 70.3). After completing the triathlon, Spealler won the Mr. Olympia title in both the Men’s and Women’s categories. Since then he has been featured in numerous magazines including Muscle & Fitness, Men’s Health, Sports Illustrated and many others. Spealler currently works as a personal trainer at CrossFit Turlock, CA where he teaches classes to other fitness enthusiasts. He also coaches high school football teams and runs a youth soccer team called “The Turlocks”. Spealler is married to his wife Lisa and they have two children named Lucas and Alyssa.

Within Crossfit, Chris Spealler is definitely one of the best trainers in the world. As stated before he has won the Men’s Category at the Ironman World Championships in 2008 with a time of 6 days, 19 hours, 55 minutes and 20 seconds.

It would have to be Chris Spealler. As a child he was involved in multiple sports such as swimming, football, basketball and baseball. He was naturally gifted in all these sports. At age 17 he was already 6 foot 2 and weighed 190 pounds. He played varsity football at this age and also played baseball in the summer.

Spealler is not just an athlete. He has a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. He hopes to one day be able to work with disabled children to help them through sport and activity. He is married to his wife Lisa and they have two children.
