CrossFit Regionals 2015: Day 3 Individual Events Announced

The Games are back! The first day of the 2015 CrossFit Games was full of excitement and action. With over 200 athletes competing in all age groups, there were some big names among them like Ryan Hall, who won the men’s division with a time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. There were other strong performances from some lesser known competitors too such as Chris Sizemore (2nd), Alex Hutchinson (3rd) and Mike Tuchscherer (4th). Here are some photos from the competition.

Day 1 of the 2015 CrossFit Games took place at the Irvine Spectrum. The first day started off with a morning session where athletes had to complete 10 rounds of 5 reps each, followed by a 15 minute break.

Then it was time for lunch and then another round of five reps until 6pm when they would have to finish their workout again. Athletes could not eat during these breaks or else they would miss out on points.

After lunch, the athletes continued their training for the rest of the day. They did one more round of five reps and then rested for two hours before starting up again at 7pm.

After resting for four hours, they completed another round of five reps and then went through a final three hour break before starting up again at 9pm. The last set of five reps started at 11pm.

The winner of the day was a close call between Ryan Hall and David Padilla who were just a few points apart. Other notable performances were from Chris Sizemore (2nd), Nate Herron (3rd) and Ragnor Aurrael (4th).

The community can watch it live on ESPN3.

The CrossFit Games is a competition that tests a mix of strength and agility, ranging from everyday athletes to professional sportspeople. The events keep the community interested with their annual changes and this year is no exception.

There are 17 events in total, 13 of them being for men and 4 of them being for women. The reason behind this is because the community is still growing and it holds events like these to attract more attention and encourage more people to join.

The competition takes place over 5 days in different locations around the world. The first three days consist of a combination of strength, stamina and speed exercises.

These are known as the “physical grind” and take place in an open space. There are 14 regional competitions that send their top 5 male, female and team (as a whole) competitors to compete in these events. The top 10 athletes in each of these teams then move on to the final day of competition where they compete against each other and everyone else for the right to be called “Fittest on Earth”.

This year’s CrossFit Games include some changes. One of the events has been changed from an endurance row to a swimming event where athletes have to swim as far as they can in a pool.

Another event involves running and lifting at the same time, which is bound to put some competitors at a disadvantage. There’s also a medley relay which brings together all the different events to test the competitors’ abilities to work with other people.

The Crossfit events are:

Overhead Medicine Ball Throw, Dumbbell Thruster, Cleans and Jerk, Sprint/Drag Carry/Run, 800m Run, Dumbbell Ground to Overhead, Box Jump, Pull-ups, Deadlift, Sumo Deadlift Highpulls, Bike Absail, 400m Run, Chest-to-Bar Pull-ups, Row and Handstand Walk.

The events take place in the following order:
