What exactly is Tabata Training?
Tabata is a Japanese word which means “time”. A time limit or period of intense effort. There are many different types of exercises that are called as ‘tabatas’. Some of them include: 1) Running at high speed (2), 2) Swimming at high speed (3), 3) Cycling at high speed (4). So it’s not surprising that there are several variations on these basic exercises. But all of them have one thing in common – they are designed to test your body’s limits.
The main purpose of Tabata is to improve your physical fitness level. When you exercise regularly, your muscles get stronger and develop new functions. Your cardiovascular system gets better and you lose weight. You might even feel better about yourself because of it!
In order to do so, you need to perform various exercises with short periods of time, usually under very low intensity. These intervals of short duration require your body to adapt to the stress. If you don’t do this, then your muscles will become weaker and less able to handle the work load.
